Mary Jo Boldingh

Mary Jo has more than 25 years of combined law firm and in-house experience as a patent attorney.

Mary Jo draws upon her past experience as a laboratory chemist, scientific programming consultant, IP litigator, and in-house patent attorney to counsel clients in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications, infringement, validity, and freedom-to-operate issues in the chemical and pharmaceutical areas, intellectual property due diligence for client transactions, and litigation, and settlement negotiation strategy.

Prior to law school, Mary Jo worked as a laboratory chemist for UOP (now a Honeywell company) and as a computational chemistry consultant on drug design and fuels projects. After law school, she was a patent attorney for AlliedSignal, Inc., then outside counsel for law firms such as Arnold, White & Durkee; Kelley, Drye and Warren; and Foley & Lardner. She is currently Of Counsel at Paschall & Associates, LLC.

Mary Jo holds the degrees of J.D., Chicago-Kent College of Law, and Master of IP Management and Markets, Illinois Institute of Technology, and has degrees in chemistry from Northwestern University and Loyola University of Chicago.

Mary Jo is licensed to practice in the State of Illinois and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and has served as a board member for various professional and non-profit organizations including the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago and the Chicago Section of the American Chemical Society.
